SimpleFFB - Force Feedback Plugin
SimpleFFB replaces the game's built in force feedback completely. You turn the in-game FFB off, and the plugin takes direct control of your wheel through DirectInput, generating every force itself from live telemetry. It was written and tuned on Logitech G wheels, but it talks to the wheel through plain DirectInput, so any DirectInput force feedback wheel should work (G27/G29/G920/DFGT, Thrustmaster, Fanatec and so on), though at present I cannot test to verify how other wheels will feel with the plugin. Give it a test and let me know. I may include other presets for other wheels if other users recommend them. EFFECTS Self centering that stays out of your way while parking and builds up with speed. It is computed from telemetry rather than a stock DirectInput spring, so it can be firm just off center and relax toward full lock instead of the other way around. Steering weight that is heavy at a standstill, lightens once you are rolling, and can get heavier with cargo load. Stiff steering when the engine is off. No engine means no power steering. Bump steer: a short tug to one side when a front wheel rides up onto a bump. Real road surface feel taken straight from the front suspension. Bumps kick the wheel, rough ground and offroad jolt it. Rumble strip vibration, triggered by the actual surface under your front wheels. A firm thunk when the suspension takes a hard hit. A subtle buzz while the engine brake is working. Optional light synthetic road texture so perfectly smooth roads do not feel dead. Everything is adjustable in the ini file, and the file hot reloads: save a change while driving and you feel it about a second later, no restart needed. INSTALLATION 1. Copy ats_ffb_plugin.dll and ats_ffb_plugin.ini into: American Truck Simulator\bin\win_x64\plugins Create the plugins folder if it does not exist yet. 2. In game, go to Options > Controls and set Force Feedback to 0. This step is not optional. The plugin needs exclusive access to the wheel's force feedback, and if the game's own FFB is still on, the game keeps hold of the wheel and the plugin cannot take over. 3. Match your wheel rotation (900 degrees for example) in your wheel driver and in game. 4. The game will show a warning about advanced SDK features on startup. That is normal for any telemetry plugin, just confirm it. You can verify it worked in game.log.txt in your Documents folder. Look for the line "ATS FFB: took over wheel ... via DirectInput (exclusive)". CUSTOMIZATION The default settings are a sensible baseline for Logitech G wheels. Every effect has its own section in the ini with strength, speed thresholds and shaping, plus a master section at the top to scale the whole wheel at once. Speeds in the ini are in mph by default, switchable to kph or m/s, though you will have to convert the values yourself. A few things worth knowing settings wise: If the wheel pushes away from center instead of centering, set spring_invert = 1. Constant force polarity differs between wheel brands and cannot be detected automatically. If you have more than one force feedback device connected, set device_name_filter (for example G29) so the right one gets picked. If the vibration effects feel dead around center on a geared wheel, raise that effect's center_compensation value. Gear stiction swallows small forces near center, and this setting boosts them back up there without touching the rest of the range. NOTES - No game files are modified. This is a standard SCS telemetry plugin, everything lives in the plugins folder. - Works in ETS2 as well, same install under Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64\plugins. - To uninstall, delete the dll and ini files from the plugins folder. I've included a Source folder, that contains the source code and build instructions. Feel free to make any changes to the plugin and upload at your leisure. This plugin was made in large part by the community, and it is the community's to do with as you please. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Small note to say that I really had no idea what I was doing when this was created. Special thanks to the many who helped, answered questions and responded to my messages, and especially to "Rooster", who took the time to walk me through most of this process step by step. Also, yes, AI tools were used to help me through the process of building this plugin. Without it, this would not have been possible, as I am a single dad, a caregiver for a disabled child, and a freelance trucker. There was so much I had to learn in such a short time for this project, and I used AI to help make that process a little less time consuming. Prior to this project, I have mostly written just basic Python scripts. It goes without saying, but, Rooster and I, and primarily the trucksim community did the heavy lifting. Still, if this is something that you feel strongly about, I totally understand and to some extent I do too, so I'm leaving this message here so that you can decide for yourself. At the end of the day, I started this project so that I could further enjoy the game, and I hope that you enjoy this plugin as much as I do.

"Realish" Truck Physics
Hello, I made this mod where it tries to make the physics more "realistic" This is a perfect companion for my "Realish" Mirror FOV mod on the SCS Forums. Hope you enjoy the mod let me know I need to fix anything. Thanks
ATS Real Car Physics
Experience driving like never before with the Real Car Physics mod! This enhancement brings cutting-edge, realistic vehicle dynamics to your game, transforming how cars handle, accelerate, brake, and respond to road conditions. Inspired by real-world automotive engineering, this mod introduces features such as: > Authentic Suspension Behavior – Feel the weight shifts during turns, bumps, and uneven terrain. > True-to-Life Traction and Grip – Tires now behave according to road surface, speed, and weather conditions. > Advanced Acceleration and Braking Dynamics – No more arcade-style speed bursts; cars respond to power and weight like real machines. > Drifting and Skidding Realism – Precision control during high-speed maneuvers. > Aerodynamic Influence – Downforce and drag now affect top speed and cornering. Perfect for racing fans and simulation lovers, this mod makes every turn and straightaway feel genuinely thrilling. Whether you're pushing a supercar to its limits or cruising through city streets, Real Car Physics delivers unmatched realism behind the wheel. Works very well for trucks aswell so use it if you combine type of vehicles. Place above all mods!
Physics & Camera Mod Compatibility Patch
What This Mod Does: This mod takes the best of Physics mods for ATS and combines them, and adds support for modded trucks. It also adds mod truck support for unlimited camera mods. (mod is still necessary for some default trucks. Files are included, but some trucks are missing.) This mod also changes the default FFB LUTs for Logitech G and Driving Force wheels to improve the FFB (Serves as a pseudo FFB fix). Honestly, as much as this is an improvement, I recommend the FFB Plugin found here: (https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=49772) If you use MOMO's steering, disable that and enable this, as it will overwrite this mod & visa versa. This mod adjusts the same value so if you like that mod this should work for you all the same. This mod also adjusts the clutch function in game. Double clutching should be much easier now, and you should be less likely to grind when double clutching. Eventually, I plan on creating a version that goes through and mutes the transmission grinding sounds for default and sound mods, and modded transmissions, but that is a toll order and will take an obscene amount of time. This was tested with synchronized shifting at 0 (off). The other thing this mod does is produce more natural wear and tear on the chassis and other parts, which is a feature that was planned for a few separate physics mods, that never came to be. Requirements (All on Steam): This mod requires FRKN64's Realistic Physics, Eddie Yantz's ATS Physics Tweak (Dry Surfaces), and and Air Seat mod. Any other mods that modify chassis files or physics.sii should be below this in the load order for the changes in these mods to function. FRKN64's Realistic Physics: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2254213086 ATS Physics Tweak (Dry Surfaces: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1814180686 AirSeat Ride: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1815419676 Recommended Settings: All Stability Sliders: 0 Cabin Suspension: 0-25 Suspension Stiffness: 78 Driveshaft Torque: 100 Steering & Controls: Below is the steering configuration I recommend using. I spent weeks working on getting the steering just right, as an IRL trucker. I've use the information in this post to make the changes, which explains how it all works. (https://www.reddit.com/r/trucksim/comments/4a1gbu/people_with_steering_wheels_take_a_look_at_this/) I Highly recommend using my files, or playing around with yours as described in the post above. As a trucker IRL, the default steering calculation is far too sensitive. It's still not perfect. IRL the steering cannot respond instantly to input, the way it does ingame. If you look at video, you'll see many tuckers making large, brief inputs, but not getting abrupt motions in return. This is because the input is translated through the steering box, and then through to the rack. This not only introduces a slight delay, but also dampens the effect of inputs. IRL, to maintain a straight line, with the wind, uneven road surface, other trucks etc. around, you have to make large enough corrections on the wheel to get an appropriate reaction from the wheels as they are on the tarmac. In ATS however, any input you give it is translated through the system to the wheels directly. I have tried my best to mimic the effect I spoke about, with what I could find online, and knew how to do. I've driven Cascadia's, T680's, a T880, VNL's, 579's, and a Mack IRL. I've tried to get to a close approximation of how they feel, but as I said, it's still sensitive and not perfect. Steering Config Line: There have been a few changes to some things in the game that can affect how the steering will feel. My current settings are: "mix steering `dsteering - (0.32 * normalize(abs(j_steer?0), c_steer_dz) + (0.68 * (c_steer_func / 2)) * pow(normalize(abs(j_steer?0), c_steer_dz), 1.75)) * sign(sel(c_jisteer, -j_steer?0, j_steer?0))`" So long as the total equals 1.00, you're good. I would say that 0.68 is the most realistic, as far as the actual rack ratio through the box is concerned. This would look like: "mix steering `dsteering - (0.32 * normalize(abs(j_steer?0), c_steer_dz) + (0.68 * (c_steer_func / 2)) * pow(normalize(abs(j_steer?0), c_steer_dz), 1.75)) * sign(sel(c_jisteer, -j_steer?0, j_steer?0))`" There is seemingly more "play" through the steering in 1.50/1.51/1.52, so a more realistic ratio will feel more correct. For that "delay" feeling, I recommend setting the sensitivity or steering speed within your wheel's driver/settings to around half of normal. For the G29, that's 25% if you have it default, or 50% if you run 100%. My wheel is typically set between 25% and 40% depending on my truck. This will change the initial steering ratio for the first 15-20 degrees of steering. Until SCS actually implement realistic steering, this is the best that can be done, as far as I know. I don't recommend using the in-game sensitivity slider. This will introduce a complete ratio change, and may even create a deadzone. Trucks with encrypted chassis files are not able to be added to the patch. If you'd like these trucks to be included in the mod, reach out to their creators. Many of these trucks require updates for newer game versions, and cannot be driven anyway. At present, there isn't much that can be done about this. Current Request List: Moiza mods trucks - Chassis files locked Renenate Trucks - Too many conflicts (May create a separate file, huge time investment with how many mods of his have conflicts in their chassis and tire files) Australian Kenworth Pack Updated Chassis - Clean files currently unavailable from safe sources (Some trucks should still work with the mod regardless) Hateryu Expansions - Some additional chassis may not have physics mod applied (May create a separate file in the future) I made this patch because, as a real trucker, I felt that things were just not quite right in certain ways, and I've spent quite a while working on rectifying that. I'm struggling health wise and I've been out of the seat. Trucking is what keeps me sane, so i wanted to bring that experience back home with me as close as I can. Thank you to everyone who made the mods this uses. They did the real work. ------------------------------------------------------ Included now is an optional Game Config file. This file makes changes to mirror FOV and other gamedata related changes. File is completely optional and included for anyone looking for such a thing. If you're looking for a GPS mod that actually allows you to see far enough up the road, I initially included the beginnings of that along with the gamedata a few days ago. I finally worked out most of the issues, and so that is now available as a complete, standalone mod here: https://truckymods.io/american-truck-simulator/ui/gps-quality-of-life-improvements-878458 A new plugin to auto adjust game settings for incompatible trucks is in the works! Once fully tested, it will be released along with this mod, as a way to play with encrypted/incompatible trucks without having to constantly remember which trucks work and which one's don't, and having to change your settings every time you switch trucks. This is being done, due to the increasing number of encrypted mods, and not being able to get in contact with the modders, or being ignored by them entirely. It's not a perfect solution. It's a band-aid honestly. However, this will come with the added benefit of leaving it up to the player for which trucks they want to use and don't want to use the physics mod for. Still testing, will release soon.
Realistic Physics
Please refer to the latest image of slider positioning!!! (Please note that with some wheel setups, this may be a bit too sensitive, and the sliders should be moved 10 positions right. This can be done by fully sliding the marker left, hovering the mouse over the marker you wish to move, and tapping the right arrow on your keyboard 10 times) Fine tuned ALL aspects of how everything feels. Added specific suspension "tuning" to ALL scs trucks as well as several modded trucks. weakened brakes, turn grip and slightly increased forward grip made engine rotational mass heavier made cab and wheels heavier. Decreased turning radius Overhaul of the physics to make for a much more realistic experience. No more F1 engine rev's or the impression of a lightened flywheel. Rev's take time to build, and time to settle. No more hit the brakes and stop on a dime. This is a 80k+ pound vehicle, not a smart car. Cornering to closer to the real thing, so you CAN roll over even on a straight road if you swerve too aggressively. Tire's will slip on wet or dirt roads with heavy loads and only 1 axle powered going up hill. How much depends on what kind of wheels, what kind of surface and how many powered axles there are. Truck will also lean around corners, but not so much as to look unrealistic. Driver's seat has been adjusted to "feel" more like an air seat, not a park bench. Wind resistance has been adjusted so getting to 80 mph+ will take some power, and the lowest HP trucks with a load will struggle to hold 55 mph. I am always improving this mod, and open to ideas from real world truckers on how I can fine tune this to make it even better. *NOTE* For the steering wheel itself, how "twitchy" you want it is purely up to you, but I try to emulate a truck by turning sensitivity within the steering wheel control panel (I use the Logitech G920) to about 10%, and have the ingame settings at full right for sensitivity, and full left for non-linearity. I find that this give the truck a "sluggish" feel without being too excessive. Although if you're used to it being set "race car" style, it will certainly take some getting used to. NEW FOR 1.42+ If you find that your steering is sloppy at highway speeds there is a fix for that which I have detailed on my discord server
